Standard 7(a) Authorization File Library

The 7a Wizard zip file will download the Authorization Wizard, and the CapLine Wizard on your workstation.

Requirements

(Please note that these are the only versions of the wizard currently available and, at this time, SBA does not have plans to provide an update.)

Installation Instructions

Note: The 7a Wizard requires long file name support. Do not install it on a network that does not support long file names.

  1. Download 7a Authorization Wizard.zip (File size: approx. 9.3 MB).
  2. Copy 7a Authorization Wizard to a location on your computer where you plan to run the program.
  3. Right-click 7a Authorization Wizard, then choose Extract.
  4. Follow the instructions on the screen to extract the wizard and save it to a location on your computer.
  5. Double click “CopyTemplateFiles.bat” to copy the required template files to your computer.
  6. Open the WizardFacts.docs and follow the instructions.

To start the Wizard after it has been installed:

  1. Double-click on 7a Wizard 2018.dotm .
  2. If a Pop up window appears that states macros are disabled, click OK.
  3. Click the “Enable Content” button at the top of the Window.
  4. The Authorization Wizard is ready to use on Word 2010, Word 2013, Word, 2016.

About the sample Borrower's Certification:

The sample documents are available in Appendix D of the Boilerplate. Additionally, a MS-Word file containing a copy of these documents (Filename: D7a2018.docx) was copied to the directory where the 7a Wizard Program is located.

Send email to either Auth-504@sba.gov , Auth-7a@sba.gov, Auth-EWCP@sba.gov, or Auth-CAP@sba.gov. Include your name and phone number, give complete information on how the problem occurred, and be prepared to supply an electronic copy of the Authorization document.
